More ways into
the backyard.
Daedalus Work LLC wants the menus and supporting information in Backyard Ballistics to work across input methods and screen sizes. This page describes the current features and limits without claiming perfect accessibility.
Available features
- Keyboard navigation, visible focus indicators and labeled menu controls.
- Keyboard gameplay with WASD or arrow keys, mouse aiming, Space to dodge and R to reload.
- Touch controls with handedness, position and size adjustments.
- Gamepad support for common movement, aiming, firing and dodge controls.
- A reduced-effects option plus automatic bypass of the opening animation when the operating system requests reduced motion.
- Graphics-quality controls, optional fullscreen and text status announcements for connections and errors.
- Responsive layouts intended for phone, tablet, laptop and wide desktop screens.
Known limitations
Fast real-time canvas combat is highly visual and is not currently equivalent with a screen reader. Some sound cues also have visual counterparts, but gameplay may still require simultaneous movement and aiming. Color is supplemented with shapes, text or position in many interfaces, though dense action may remain difficult for people with low vision, motor disabilities, vestibular sensitivities or cognitive disabilities.
The opening animation can always be skipped. In display settings, choose “Reduce camera shake & particles” and “Light” graphics if motion or visual density is uncomfortable.
